As brothers of Sigma Pi, we strive to make real the Fraternity's ideals in our lives, through thought speech and action. We make efforts to recognize our brothers who have, time and again, bettered the fraternity through their devotion and dedication. And most of us, at some point, have worked to improve the fraternal experience for future brothers.
Then there are those who have represented the Fraternity in other ways. Volunteering and upholding the traditions and ideals of our great nation by serving in her armed services. A nation which fostered, among other organizations, Sigma Pi Fraternity. While many other nations, organizations and traditions around the world have been unrecognizable altered or even erased from existence, our nation and our Fraternity have not only endured and survived, but grown and prospered.
Our country honors it's fallen, wounded and veteran servicemen and women with memorials, reverence and respect. In an effort to at least meet that standard set by our nation as a whole, our Fraternity will be honoring the servicemen within our ranks. To properly recognize the men of Alpha Chapter who have, through their service, brought more even pride and tradition to our Fraternity, a database of those who have served, are serving, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, is being compiled.
I personally extend my thanks for your participation in our efforts. We are seeking to acknowledge ALL who have served, dating back to 1897, so your assistance in spreading the word of this endeavor is greatly appreciated. Finally, should you know of a brother who has made that ultimate sacrifice in the defense of liberty, please provide as much information as you can, and, if possible, a reference phone number so we can speak with someone regarding that brother.
As an active duty soldier, I understand your time is valuable but in working toward this common and worthy goal, time spent filling out this information is time well spent.
Fraternally,
